2025 Raclette World Championship

The Raclette World Championship is a must-attend event for lovers of this iconic Valais dish. Held in the village of Morgins , in the heart of the Portes du Soleil and the Dents du Midi region , this event showcases the unique expertise of Swiss and international cheesemakers.
The 2nd edition , which took place from October 24 to 26, 2025 , attracted thousands of visitors who came to celebrate raclette in all its forms – a true tribute to the local produce and conviviality of Valais.

🇨🇭 A competition unique in the world

The championship brings together the best local and foreign producers, divided into several categories: raw milk raclettes , alpine raclettes , and raclettes made with pasteurized or thermized milk .
At the first edition, more than 10,000 visitors tasted 30,000 raclettes in Morgins. In 2025, the bar was raised even higher: more than 150 cheeses from a dozen countries were presented to the jury.

Beyond the competition, the event aims to promote the quality of artisanal products and to showcase the culinary heritage of Valais.

For three days, to the delight of raclette lovers, the Raclette Village throbbed with tastings and entertainment. Local producers, cheese refiners, winemakers, and artisans shared their passion with the public.
In the evening, a DJ set and a popular dance extended the party, in a typically Valaisan atmosphere.

The success of the championship rests on the rigor and passion of the organizing committee of the Dents du Midi Region , supported by volunteers and cheese professionals.
This biennial event now attracts participants from all over the world and helps to strengthen the reputation of Morgins and the Portes du Soleil as a top destination for alpine gastronomy.

Each cheese is evaluated by a panel of master cheesemakers, affineurs and tasters in the competition room according to specific criteria:

  • Texture : homogeneous and pliable when melted
  • Appearance : color, crust and structure
  • Aromas : olfactory richness and complexity
  • Taste : balanced, long finish and aromatic intensity
  • Overall impression : harmony and typicality
